Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta organized a foreign student orientation of Darmasiswa Scholarship of the Republic of Indonesia Batch 2015/2016. The orientation was held on Friday, September 4th, 2015 at 13.00 pm in the Seminar Room ISI Surakarta and was opened by the Rector of ISI Surakarta, Prof. Sri Rochana W., S.Kar., M.Hum.
In the academic year 2015/2016, ISI Surakarta admitted 18 foreign students of Darmasiswa Republic of Indonesia Scholarship program participants. Students admitted are from various countries such as; United States, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland, Mozambique, Japan, Germany, Singapore, Mexico, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Estonia. These Darmasiswa Students will conduct one-year study at the Faculty of Performing Arts (FSP) ISI Surakarta, such as the Department of Dance and Ethnomusicology. Whereas some Darmasiswa students will study at the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) the Department of Fine Arts and Batik.
Prof. Dr. Sri Rochana W., S.Kar., M.Hum as Rector of ISI Surakarta said, “there are 18 foreign students were already present in the content surakarta and will pursue art and culture of Indonesia, is an exciting thing for all of us because through Darmasiswa students, ISI surakarta and especially the arts and culture of Indonesia can be known abroad.
