Prof. Santosa, a lecturer of Ethnomusicology Department at ISI Surakarta, has joined Scheme for Academic Mobility and Exchange (SAME) program from Sept 25th till Dec 25th, 2015 at Center for Southeast Asian Studies University of Michigan (CSEAS – UM), United State of America. This program is one of priority program of  Directorate of Science, Technology, and Higher Education Resources, State Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education. Furthermore, his SAME Program participation at CSEAS UM is an implementation of a partnership between ISI Surakarta and University of Michigan. During the program, he has run some activities such as sitting in for Ethnography lecture of music, writing an article for international journal, teaching gamelan, and facilitating a possibility of ISI Surakarta’s students and lecturers activities at University of Michigan in the future.

Besides, karawitan performance held in December 12th, 2015 as one of his activities has got much attention from students, lecturers, and society around Ann Arbor where University of Michigan is located at. Having been attended by Mr. Andriana Spandy, Indonesian Republic General Consulate at Chicago, the performance presented 6 karawitan repertoars. Judith Becker, a qualified ethnomusicologist of USA has given a good note for the performance. After all, this activity is one of ISI Surakarta’s internationalization strategy to establish its roadmap to reach world class university.
