Choreographing for the opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games

ISI Surakarta’s Choreography Lecturer, Eko Supriyanto, has been  honored to be the Choreographer of the opening of the 2018 Asian Games at the Bung Karno Stadium (SUGBK) on August 18. He combines Indonesian dance with contemporary work. Its movement is rooted from the richness of the culture and traditions of the archipelago with the big theme of Energy of Asia. Eko said there were 1,600 dancers who would enliven the opening of the 2018 Asian Games.

“This is the grandest stage and unique ornaments in the world of  sports. My team from ISI Solo and the team of Mbak Hartati from Jakarta have 20 people working hard to realize this concept, “said Eko.

He hopes that through this event Indonesian dances are increasingly known to the world. “Hopefully we can show the professionalism of our dancers, our arts, and our dance material that is very extraordinary and can be exposed to become the pride of the nation,” said Eko as reported by during a press conference at the Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (Inasgoc) , Jakarta, on Sunday (27/5).
